Class 4, Assignment 3

This is one of my favorite Immersive Education videos because it shows how students in a k-12 learning environment can benefit from virtual world learning. For example, students get a hands on learning experience about eco systems without having to travel to an actual pond. Through exploration of the pond scenario in the immersive simulated environment, students can develop a richer understanding of complex casual relationships in ecosystems.

I like this video because it is another example of how k-12 teachers can use immersive education to help develop the student's understanding of a topic through inquiry and investigation of the subject. Instead of just learning about the topic through the medium of a textbook, the students use problem solving skills for a hands on way of learning. The students are given a problem and they must use cognitive reasoning to find the answers themselves as opposed to being given the answer to them in a text book.

This was my favorite video by far out of all the videos I watched. While the other video gave great examples of different virtual worlds, this video really explained the advantages and how we can use immersive eduction to change the learning frontier all together. It explained that our generation has different stimuli and are exposed to a vast amount of technology compared to other generations and we should really take advantage of that. Instead of sitting passively in front of lectures, memorizing facts without content and reading textbooks, the way students are taught today should be hands on through immersive education in a virtual learning enviornment.
