Midterm #8

This is my headshot that is on the BC Athletics website http://www.bceagles.com/, that I edited in GIMP.  I wanted to edit this photo since I did not like how orange I looked in the original.  I used the smudge tool on both my face and my hair to achieve the desired look of more of an even color and texture to my hair and face. It is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. For details, visit the immersive BC portal at http://ImmersiveEducation.org/@/bc

This is a photo of Beyonce, that I edited in GIMP. I first took a square logo and cropped it into a circle. I then resized my image then resized the logo to fit well over the eyes in the picture. Then I added a black banner at the bottom by choosing the rectangular tool then fill with FG color, and added three different captions of different text font, size, and color. It is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. Midterm #4

This is a greeting card I made on Cloud Party for Midterm #4.  First I went into cloud party and took a picture of my avatar using the camera feature.  I screen shotted that picture and then brought that picture into GIMP adding the text.  It is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. Silver Dollar in GIMP, Class 6

Here is the Screen shot of my silver dollar I made in GIMP.  It was a lot more difficult to make in GIMP than it was to make in Word.

Silver Dollar Class 6, Word

Here is a silver dollar that I created in Word.  I first used the auto shapes to make a circle and then used a gradient fill to appear like a coin.  Then I used the word art tool to ass "LIBERTY.  Next I used the free form tool in the drawing tool box to create the shape of Susan B Anthony's head.  After I drew the head I added the "In God we trust" and the "1922" text.  Finally, I added my initials to the coin in gimp.  Below are some progress shots:

Class 6 Silver Dollar

This is a screen shot of the silver dollar I made in MS Word.  I first drew a circle with the drawing tool and then I added text and made it rotate.  Finally I added the star in the middle of the dollar and filled it gray and a solid black outline.

Class 5, Assignment 1

This is an image of the  Immersive Education Summit Piktochart I made for assignment 1 for class 5.  I started with basic research of the summit, who will be the key note speakers, what the summit is about, what is included in the summit and who the audience of the summit it.  The next summit is going to be in Colorado and the last summit was here in Boston.  Picktochart is a fun and simple way to turn information into beautiful graphics.  Below are some screen shots of the process of making this picktochart:
